Emmanuel School was established in 1988 under the auspices of East Midlands Christian Fellowships who are the proprietors. This year we are delighted to be celebrating 25 years. The school is “very successful and has gone from strength to strength. It is a happy school which is buzzing with activity.” (BSI Inspection 2012)
Emmanuel School caters for children aged 3 – 11 years on our site at Juniper Lodge, 43 Kedleston Road Derby and has capacity for up to 75 children.
The school is organised into three departments and we actively promote considerable interaction between them. Our aim is to encourage a strong sense of family within the school where children support and encourage each other. “The school provides a caring and nurturing environment in which parents and carers feel their children are safe and well cared for.”
With “outstanding teaching and assessment” the school offers exceptional small group education.
These three departments are:
Early Years (ages 3-5: Nursery and Reception)
Key Stage 1 (Ages 5-7)
Key Stage 2 (Ages 7-11)
Emmanuel School Derby is a Nursery and Primary School owned and operated by East Midlands Christian Fellowships (EMCF), a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity based at The Riverside Centre, Riverside Court, Pride Park, Derby DE24 8HY. Government and operation of the school is delegated to the Board of School Governors by the EMCF Board of Directors.
The school’s finances are administered by the board of directors (trustees) of EMCF. The running expenses of the school are financed by the fees paid, although the school receives a significant subsidy from the church. Children between the ages of 3 and 5 are eligible for the Nursery Grant administered through the local authority, which covers most of the cost. Details of the fees can be found in FEES.
As part of our policy of working closely with parents, parents of children attending full-time are encouraged to help with some school activities, from listening to readers to helping create displays.
